Foresters Incorporated combines traditional forestry with cutting-edge technology to promote better forest management and provide today's landowners and forestry professionals with the best information, tools, and techniques available.

At the heart of our mission is the belief that the world's forestland is a treasured and limited resource. As our demands on its benefits and products increase, so does our responsibility to manage and care for it properly. At Foresters Incorporated, we have accepted this responsibility.

Our Forest Management division provides private and industrial landowners and managers with the information and on-the-ground services needed to best appreciate, manage, and benefit from their forest resources. In every area, we work closely with our clients to meet landowner objectives in a responsible, sustainable, and profitable manner.

This woods-work, in addition to benefiting individual landowners, allows us to advance traditional forestry practices by designing and implementing increasingly accurate, cost-effective, and often less-invasive methods of gathering and analyzing information. Using field and office computers, remote sensing, computer mapping, visualization, and expert systems, we develop new methods of forest monitoring, care, and management.

By increasing our understanding about the land and more accurately predicting the future impact of today’s actions, such technologies foster more responsible and effective approaches to forest and wildland management. The results bring balance and integrity to our decisions, add focus to our objectives, and increase the likelihood of long-term sustainability.

To make these advances widely available, our Technical Services division provides tools, technical support, and short courses to other natural resource managers. Our Two Dog Brand Software, developed out of our extensive field experience and research, provides a comprehensive forest inventory program. In addition, we offer products and services such as forest inventory design and processing, field data recorders, GPS/GIS services, and short courses on sampling methods, statistical analysis, field computers, and related topics.

We believe such services empower the landowners we work with, as well as other forest managers, by providing the support and knowledge needed to make informed, sensitive, long-lasting decisions that better match objectives with potential benefits, and therefore achieve sustainable forest management.

Our range of service is all the wildland regions and urban forests of the United States, with a limited number of clients abroad. Frequently people ask, “With clients in nearly every forested state, why not have branch offices?” We do. Although our home-office is in Blacksburg, Virginia, our work is accomplished in the wildlands of the world; our goal is to transfer our knowledge and tools to others, enabling them to share our “office” wherever they are.
